STEPS
1
MAKE SURE THE MUSIC YOU\'RE TRYING TO SYNC IS ON YOUR IPHONE. You can do this by selecting the orange "Music" icon on your screen and then going to Songs, Artists, or Albums to check on whatever you've acquired recently. If you would like to purchase more songs before syncing your phone and computer, you can access the iTunes Store on your phone by selecting "Store" in the upper left corner of your Music menu. 2
OBTAIN AN APPLE USB CABLE. If you have an iPhone charger on you, you can simply detach the cable from the plug and it will work.3
PLUG THE WIDER END INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE IPHONE AND THE SHORTER END INTO YOUR COMPUTER. The location of the appropriate outlet on your computer will depend on the type of computer you have; most laptops have one on the side, while a desktop computer's outlet is probably behind the screen.4
OPEN ITUNES ON YOUR COMPUTER IF IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY OPEN WHEN YOU CONNECT YOUR PHONE. If you cannot find it in your dock, try searching for it in Spotlight. Make sure that the _most recent version_ of iTunes opens when you do this.5
SELECT YOUR PHONE\'S NAME FROM THE MENU ON THE LEFT. Click on the "Music" label at the top and ensure that you have the "Sync Music" box checked. 6
WAIT AND WATCH AS YOUR PHONE SYNCS WITH YOUR PROGRAM. Your phone should begin backing up, then determining tracks to sync. This indicates that the music you've purchased on your iPhone is being copied to your computer, and that you've effectively transferred the songs to your computer. 7
LOOK AT YOUR UPDATED ITUNES LIBRARY. If your songs have been transferred over, they should be at the top of your "Purchased" playlist. If they haven't, you should disconnect your iPhone from your computer, then plug it back in and try again. Sometimes it just takes a couple of tries for syncing to work--if this is the case, don't worry if you connect and nothing happens. Know another method for How to SYNC THE IPHONE TO ITUNES? TIPS
If you have iCloud enabled, you don't even have to manually link your phone and your computer in order to sync them; whatever you buy on your phone will automatically be copied to your computer.
Music isn't the only thing that can be synced with your phone/Apple device. All your apps and ringtones get synced, every time you sync the device with your computer.
Don't get frustrated if your iPhone takes a long time to pop up on your iTunes. This is a perfectly normal occurrence, especially for older devices.
Open your iTunes application _before_ you connect your devices If you have an old computer or iPhone, since otherwise it could delay while opening with your phone and take you even more time.
The iPhone isn't the only Apple device that can sync with iTunes with this same process. Any iOS device can also be synced with iTunes using this same process.
